There is something incredibly special about creating portraits that are meant to last for generations. In November and December 2025, I had the honor of hosting Heirloom Portrait events at Market on Main in Bladenboro, and the experience was nothing short of magical.
A Perfect Setting in the Heart of Bladenboro
Market on Main generously hosted the event inside their beautiful store on November 15 and December 6, 2025. If you’ve never visited, it’s an amazing home décor boutique filled with thoughtfully curated furniture, clothing, and timeless pieces that instantly make you feel at home.
Bladenboro is the kind of small town where everyone supports one another, and that sense of community was felt deeply throughout both event dates. Hosting these sessions in a space that values quality, craftsmanship, and beauty made the experience even more meaningful.
Families, Babies, and Timeless Childhood Moments
These Heirloom Portrait sessions were created with families in mind, and most of the families who attended had little ones. I photographed babies as young as 5 months old and children up to 9 years old, capturing sweet expressions, curious personalities, and fleeting stages of childhood that pass all too quickly.
Parents came with one goal in mind: to have their children’s portraits ready for the holidays. What they received was something far more lasting — a keepsake they will cherish forever.
A Special Event Experience
While the sessions themselves stayed true to the simplicity and elegance of heirloom portraits, the event offered a special incentive. Heirloom sessions in-house are typically $200, but families who attended the Market on Main events were able to book for $140.
The response was incredible. The November 15 date sold out in less than 24 hours, which truly speaks to how much families value meaningful, professional portraits of their children.
A Response That Touched My Heart
One of the most rewarding parts of these events was seeing the parents’ reactions. Families absolutely fell in love with their children’s portraits, knowing they had something timeless — something that wouldn’t go out of style or be forgotten on a phone years from now.
During the events, families chose digital collections as well as framed fine art prints, creating pieces ready to be displayed in their homes and passed down through generations.
Why Heirloom Portraits Matter
As a photographer, these sessions reminded me why I do what I do. These portraits are more than photographs — they are pieces of family history. One day, these children will look back at their portraits, and eventually, they’ll show them to their own children.
Knowing that I get to play a small role in preserving those memories for generations to come is incredibly special to me.
