Rooted in Southern tradition, heirloom portraits are more than just beautiful photographs — they are lasting keepsakes, meant to be passed down from one generation to the next. These portraits capture your child’s innocence and personality in a way that never goes out of style.
What Are Heirloom Portraits?
Heirloom portraits are classic, fine art-style images of children — typically taken between the ages of 9 months and 8 years — using a white background and simple, timeless styling. The result is a clean, elegant image that highlights your child’s sweet expressions and natural charm.
The Experience
Sessions are kept short and relaxed (about 20–30 minutes) to keep little ones comfortable and happy.
I use soft studio lighting and a minimal, elegant setup to create portraits that feel warm, authentic, and truly timeless.
The Location
These photoshoots are done indoors, this allows me to use studio lights to keep your portraits very bright. For this reason, these can be done in my home studio in Elizabethtown, NC or at your home (travel fees apply beyond 20 miles – $0.40 per mile)
What to Wear
Clothing plays a big role in achieving the heirloom look. I recommend: Smocked dresses, bubbles, or classic children’s wear; and soft, neutral tones or pastels. Need help choosing the perfect outfit? I’m happy to offer guidance or examples to match the style.
